This stuff is awesome and I highly recommend it! My lips are sensitive and recently started splitting and pealing I think because of an allergic reaction to some new acne medician I've been using. They were sore, red, cracked, pealing and a cause of major pain and frustration for me for over a week until I found this stuff! The smell and taste are really nice (very natural, like green tea), it provides a bit of a cooling effect on sore lips, the feel is very soft and not overly sticky, and has been a really big help in healing my lips in a very short time (I noticed a major difference within hours). I didn't notice the white film that others have mentioned, but then again anything would look better than how my lips previously looked!
Definitely try this out if you're having troubles with sore, cracked lips, whether from a cold or other reasons. I highly recommend it!

For years I have had to put up with the sub-par effects of Blistex Silk n' Shine, mostly because there was not a good alternative. This is the alternative and you will not be sorry you switched. The SPF 30 is perfect for the long days on the ski slopes, or days at the beach. This is also ultra-hydrating with out having heavy oils like other products that contain coco oil, or coconut oil that can clog pores.
The hydrating effects of the product also last for a while, two to three hours even when out doors compared to an hour at best with other Blistex products. One small issue is the taste. Everyone says "Well you aren't suppose to eat chapstick!" but most do end up getting a little taste every now and then. For supper tasters that are sensitive to bitterness, this may not be the best product-but for the rest of us it is just fine. Finally, everyone needs to know about the smell (since it sits right below your nose), and I love it. It is a cross between chocolate and vanilla this is not over powering.
I made the switch and am happy I did! FIVE STAR is an accurate name!

I love the metal ball-bearing applicator that really is cool to the lips and spreads the Lip Infusion nicely. I think of this almost more as a lip gloss than I do a real repairing type of product. For repair, I use Blistex Lip Medex, .38-Ounce Pots (Pack of 12) The Blistex Lip Medex is much more appropriate for really cracked, dry lips.
The Blistex Lip Infusion is a nice product to give moisture and sheen to lipe (think of the 70's and 80's and lip gloss). It does absorb quickly and does not leave any waxy coating or feel on your lips because it is more liquid than it is wax ... so it really soaks in. I am definitely not shy about using it, I will use several applications to really put a coating on my lips that will stay and not soak all the way in -- I find multiple coatings much more effective for "sticking power".
If you have moderately dry lips without a lot of chapping and cracking, this is a good product. If you have Winter, chapped and cracked lips you need something stronger like Carmex Lip Balm Small (Pack of 12) or the Blistex Lip Medex. They will certainly treat troubled lips more aggressively than the Lip Infusion product will.
If this product is used as a moisturizer or sun block, I think it's the right product.

All my life, I suffered from fever blisters ... cold sores ... canker sores ... a catch-all for PAINFUL INSIDE-AND-OUTSIDE-THE-MOUTH eruptions. [And, yes, I realize that fever blisters/cold sores are herpes simplex and different from canker sores...] I tried expensive cure-alls but always returned to Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment. It works! It accelerates healing and, when applied early, cuts the extent and duration of an eruption down to a few prickly days as opposed to a week or more of pain and, at times, unsightly sores.
Especially when the eruption is on the outside of the mouth, you MUST apply the ointment as soon as you feel a tickly-tingle EVEN BEFORE YOU SEE ANYTHING. Don't wait. Then, reapply as often as you think of it (as often as possible).
Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment is an outstanding (and, for me, essential) product.
