I live in a very dry and arid area. No matter how hydrated I am, my lips are always dry. I have over 50 lip balms trying to find something that will make my lips soft without applying lip balm every hour. I tried the new neosporin lip balms and fell in love with them. I can apply this at night and it is still on my lips in the morning. Plus my lips are softer. Yes it is $4, but if it works, it is worth it. I was very sceptical, but after the first night I was surprised and happy. If you're like me who's spent a lot of money on different lip balms to find relief, this is the product for you.

I love the metal ball-bearing applicator that really is cool to the lips and spreads the Lip Infusion nicely. I think of this almost more as a lip gloss than I do a real repairing type of product. For repair, I use Blistex Lip Medex, .38-Ounce Pots (Pack of 12) The Blistex Lip Medex is much more appropriate for really cracked, dry lips.
The Blistex Lip Infusion is a nice product to give moisture and sheen to lipe (think of the 70's and 80's and lip gloss). It does absorb quickly and does not leave any waxy coating or feel on your lips because it is more liquid than it is wax ... so it really soaks in. I am definitely not shy about using it, I will use several applications to really put a coating on my lips that will stay and not soak all the way in -- I find multiple coatings much more effective for "sticking power".
If you have moderately dry lips without a lot of chapping and cracking, this is a good product. If you have Winter, chapped and cracked lips you need something stronger like Carmex Lip Balm Small (Pack of 12) or the Blistex Lip Medex. They will certainly treat troubled lips more aggressively than the Lip Infusion product will.
If this product is used as a moisturizer or sun block, I think it's the right product.

Long ago and far away, I was a teen with a severe case of acne. I was taking a medication which required the use of this product on my lips, or else they would severely dry out-the dermetologist said this was the ONLY product on the market which would counteract this side effect. For a few months, this little white tub with a blue metal lid was a constant companion, always within reach in case my lips really needed it!
I'm proud to say those years of acne are far behind me, but I would highly recommend this product to anyone who experiences severely dry lips, regardless of season or medical circumstance!

I would like to give this product 5 stars but i found it by chance. i have been treating my current cold sore with abreva (which is WAY OVER PRICED it is effective but it did not do what Zicam does)
My cold sore was almost clear from using abreva ......but it was at a scab stage slowly seeping fluid and not drying out as fast as i wanted it while still using abreva.
I was just about to pull off another tube of abreva when suddenly i looked up above the shelf and saw this new Zicam cold sore product that was half the cost plus it offered a $3 off promotional sticker so i thought I'd give it a try........... Well let me tell you as soon as i applied it all the remaining fulid in my lip started rising to the surface of my cold sore. I had to keep blotting it with a tissue to keep any further spreading of infection. After the second application of the zicam gel there was no more fluid in the scab and it reduced the swelling of the wound to a shrink!
It is advised not to use any other topical lip medications that contain zinc in conjunction with Zicam because it has a sufftient amount of zinc in the product.
I am not a doctor but i have found that the best way to keep a cold sores from occuring is to keep oral supplements in your medicine cabinet such as lysine, zinc, selenium, monolaurin, hyssop, and red marine algae..........GIVE ZICAM A TRY!

This product is a good one, but one word of caution- it will not work for a dry /chapped lip condition, only cold sores.
