So far, I've been 15 days without a cigarette and this kit helped so much. I have quit many times before in the past and this is the most comfortable first week without cigarettes I've ever had. The pills are discreet (unlike chewing on something to control cravings) and easy to use. I felt great the whole week. The directions suggest that you only use the pills for the first week, but you get way more than you need for a week. I still occasionally take the one for cravings when I'm in a stressful situation. I've suffered with canker sore for years. I've learned some of my triggers, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (I switched to JASON or SLS-free Tom's of Maine toothpastes) and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) makes them much worse.
I've tried pretty much all of the over the counter treatments. Some of the other products help with the pain, but this is the only one I have found which TRULY shortens the course of the canker sores.
Sometimes they are painful on application, if the sore has progressed too far, but the pain goes away pretty quickly, and soon becomes much less than it was before applying the disc. This isn't a problem if I catch the sore early. No matter how bad the sore, and I had some almost as big as the disc, they are either completely gone or nearly so within three days, without fail.
I can't recommend Cankermelts enough. Please try them, as I'm sure you will be impressed. I also want everyone to know about these, so that they don't end up going off the market. I don't want to live without these little things!

There is nothing better for canker sores or blisters. Unfortunately they stopped selling it in the stores. I don't know why. This is the best there is.

I have used this in the past for canker sores, and I'm currectly using it to provide some desparately needed numbing to an infected, impacted wisdom tooth. This works for all kinds of tooth, gum and mouth pain. The drawback is that it's only short-acting, a half-hour at most. Not a replacement for antibiotics or pain medicine BUT it's a good addition to that. Or if you have to wait a couple of days to get an appointment with a doctor, along with a pill-form pain reliever, this will most likely get you through. A much-needed first-aid item everyone should have on hand, IMO.

I would like to give this product 5 stars but i found it by chance. i have been treating my current cold sore with abreva (which is WAY OVER PRICED it is effective but it did not do what Zicam does)
My cold sore was almost clear from using abreva ......but it was at a scab stage slowly seeping fluid and not drying out as fast as i wanted it while still using abreva.
I was just about to pull off another tube of abreva when suddenly i looked up above the shelf and saw this new Zicam cold sore product that was half the cost plus it offered a $3 off promotional sticker so i thought I'd give it a try........... Well let me tell you as soon as i applied it all the remaining fulid in my lip started rising to the surface of my cold sore. I had to keep blotting it with a tissue to keep any further spreading of infection. After the second application of the zicam gel there was no more fluid in the scab and it reduced the swelling of the wound to a shrink!
It is advised not to use any other topical lip medications that contain zinc in conjunction with Zicam because it has a sufftient amount of zinc in the product.
I am not a doctor but i have found that the best way to keep a cold sores from occuring is to keep oral supplements in your medicine cabinet such as lysine, zinc, selenium, monolaurin, hyssop, and red marine algae..........GIVE ZICAM A TRY!

All I can say is THESE ARE AWESOME. I get canker sores a few times a year, and the constant irritation and pain make me turn into a grouchy monster! I have tried everything over the years... salt water, oragel type stuff, even mouthwash for canker sores... sometimes these things give relief for a few minutes or an hour, but it always comes back.
Canker cover is the first product I have used that actually completely gets rid of the pain and also helps heal. They don't last as long or work as fast as the package say... I usually have to use the covers for more than 24 hours before the sore is completely gone, but after 1 day you can tell it is WAY less painful and recovering.
The best part is just wearing them -- they are like little pillows over your canker sores. You can eat chips, spicy food -- whatever -- and feel absolutely nothing. The covers stick pretty well and don't come off accidentally.
Yes, they are pricey- but as soon as I feel a canker sore I grab one of these and dot it on. It is WORTH EVERY PENNY! Also, just FYI... it always burns me for the first 2-3 minutes or so, but then you get 4-5 hours of NO PAIN so I deal with it.

I am a frequent canker core sufferer, and have a bottle of orajel/anbesol in every purse as a result. As anyone who suffers from canker sores knows, they provide VERY temporary relief, forget about if you are trying to eat or drink anything (and it makes everything taste nasty to boot).
I thought I would give these a try, because during a particularly bad canker sore I was getting desperate. The first time I put it on backwards (it's hard to tell which side is which unless you have very good lighting), and surprisingly it gave a little relief. When I put it on the right way, though, my pain was totally gone and I could eat or drink anything, even canker sore horrors like pineapple, without pain. This thing is a miracle. And unlike some people who said it didn't last 8 hours, mine didn't go away for more than 24 hours; I eventually had to peel it off.
The reason it gets 4 stars is because it's kind of ugly. My canker sore happened to be right below my bottom front teeth, and it forms a sort of gel that makes it look like I ate a lot of cheese and haven't brushed my bottom teeth in weeks. If it's in the back it probably doesn't matter, but I wouldn't wear this before a first date unless you want to look like you live in the woods.
The important thing, though, is that it WORKS!
