Unlike Cepacol, these cough drops have phenol in them. They don't prevent coughing, but they are the absolute best for sore throats (esp. strep throat or other throat infections). The hospital gave these to my husband after he was intubated for surgery, and we ended up ordering them from amazon after not finding them anywhere locally.
