I used to get cold sores all the time, sometimes for no appearant reason, before a big event, if I got hit in the lip or ate something too spicy. Most things I tried did not work, like Abreva made the matter worse & Camphophenique(spelled wrong I'm sure) did work pretty well. But over the past year since I've had my twins I kept getting cold sores on a regular basis probably from stress and the fact that my girls keep accidently hitting me in the lip. Not only do I hate getting cold sores because it is a COLD SORE but I also could not kiss my daughters when I had them since I didn't want to give them the virus. So I began my search to find a solution.
The SOLUTION: LYSINE!!! I started taking this over 6 months ago and have not gotten a single cold sore. There was 2 weeks where I forgot to take it, got hit in the lip & started getting the tingle & a little bump. I immediately took a Lysine & the next day it was gone. I've since been taking it everyday & will continue to take it daily. If you take it daily you should not get cold sores but if you do I have read where people take more than 1 a day till it is gone. I am not a Dr and suggest you talk with your Dr before taking any supplements.
