I purchased the Clip light as well as the Hook light and think they are both fantastic products. With three levels of light they match my task at hand, extending the life of the AA alkalines further. I found the Hook light much more practical than the Clip light. The Hook light seems to always hang perfectly allowing you to pivot the head as needed. The Clip light seems only useful if you stand it up or have a the perfect item to clip it to like a belt or strap. The magnet at the bottom blocks about half of the opening of the clip and limits its functionality. Make sure the Clip version meets your needs, it's rather limited for me, I recommend the Hook version. I would give the hook model 5 stars but this one gets 2.
I called Streamlight to see if I could order the three components to convert it to a hook light. I was politely told by three people they don't sell the parts for converting this even though the parts are available. It seems they are more concerned about keeping the integrity of their product rather than what the customer desires. I would return it if I hadn't already thrown away the packaging.
