These pads work better than a large bandaid to protect a sensitive spot such as a bruise or area which is not an open wound...and you don't want it to become one...from a place where your shoe, elastic sock, a strap or any other part of a garment often rubs you. These self adhesive moleskin pads/patches give you a bit of padding for protection, stay in place until removed...are fairly waterproof...and are easier on sensitive skin than is the adhesive tape part of a bandaid. They are very easy and handy to use and do the job of protecting from rubbing and chafing better and feel more comfortable in the process.
I wear heavy elastic prescription socks which tend to rub and dig at the top front of my foot where the ankle bends and a crease forms in the socks as you walk. I went all over our area to find these pads as I felt would be superior to the large bandaids I had been putting on for protection each time (and ripping off again). These are better. I was pleased to find the one and only package of 3 pads at Walgreens for $5.98. I searched Amazon for more and found a pack of 8 of these packages for less than $25.
The size and amount of padding are just right for so many places where you might have something rubbing, to protect a bruise or a spot that is healing but no longer an open sore. These work great for protection whether you keep replacing them for long term use or just until the spot no longer needs them. And as I said, the adhesive backing works but the pads are fairly easily removed and more gentle to the skin.
Recommend them.
