I had a pair of heels that were a 1/2 size too large. I used the heel grips and the ball of foot inserts. Was very pleased that the adhesive is VERY sticky and the inserts were easy to put into my shoes. Not only did the inserts make my shoes more comfortable, but my shoes finally fit me!
I haven't used the sling straps yet, but definitely recommend the ball of foots and heel grips. They are made of real leather, therefore they have a better grip than the material used in Foot Petals (which I have also used).
